Best Maternity Shirts Ever – Downeast Basics

May 19, 2009 by Kathryn

If you’re pregnant, you need these shirts. I promise.

At the beginning I ordered 4 tees and tanks to wear under my existing non-maternity tops. They’re the longest maternity shirts I’ve found, going down below the bottom of the zippers on my pre-pregnancy pants. I’m getting large and in charge and I can still wear my pre-pregnancy pants with the zippers open and an elastic band to hold the buttons in place. I then wear one of these shirts and top it off with one of my old t-shirts. Buy them for you shall love them. They’re $5-$10 each and have saved me a ton of money on maternity clothes so far.

*I have no affilitation with Downeast and have received no free product from them.*

I bought some of these when I was pregnant, but I didn’t buy the maternity ones. And the elastic all came out. Please tell me they are better now. Because for that price I love them!

I’ve been wearing mine (maternity variety) for 3+ months and have had no elastic problems. I wore the non-maternity ones when I wasn’t pregnant (some for over a year) and the only ones I found had elastic problems were the ones with the stretchy lace on the bottoms. Cute but not durable.

Cute shirts! But I probably can’t justify buying them, as I only have 13 days and 3.5 hours left of pregnancy at most. Not that I’m counting. But I’ll be sure to let my other pregnant friends know- always nice to know about good, affordable maternity clothes!

Ooh, I’m so excited!!! I was going to go buy some new pants, but now I’ll just buy these – this is my 2nd pregnancy, and with my 1st, I could wear regular clothes until I was around 16 or 18 weeks! But this time I’m at 10 weeks, and my pants haven’t fit for about two weeks now!!! Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂

Thank you so much. I just found out I’m pregnant for the 1st time, and I’m so happy to see that they come in a variety of sizes! Yippee!

I am going to order some right now! Did you find that the sizes ran small? Some of their regular shirts that I bought recently did. And now I am ordering online, so I don’t know which size to get!

Oh, I LOVE you!!! I’m getting tired of my tiny wardrobe, and I just started wearing it. I still have ~188 days to go, too. Time to do some shopping.
