Twas the Fourth of Jul-ee

July 6, 2008 by Kathryn

I’twas, i’twas. And we consumed greatly large amounts of the fats and the sugars. Because we are patriots.
Patriotic Fatness
The cupcakes were made from scratch and about 80% organic, which seems somewhat ironic considering that after eating them we let the children on our street light over $300 worth of toxic chemicals on fire and then dance amidst the smoke and flames, encouraging them not to inhale. At least the farmer didn’t use fertilizer on those berries. We’re about healthy choices.
Barrow of TNT
We wore big boy pants this holiday weekend and only wet ourselves once…per day. We are free from the shackles of baby diapers. Sometimes our freedom impinges on the freedom of other people or their lawns or their personal property. Let freedom ring.

Did you get a new camera as a Cmas In July present, because those are some mighty nice looking pictures!

You both wore big boy pants – you and your son? What a supportive mom you are!

    The cupcakes look great!

Sounds so much more appeasing than how I spent my 4th….in the ER watching my husband writhe in pain with a less than helpful doctor. Nothing says freedom & patriotism like a kidney stone!

LOVE the picture of Magoo & his sparklers!

I meant “appealing” not “appeasing.” Whoops.

I think that’s an amendment, isn’t it? Right to wear big boy underpants.

Looks like you had a blast. Loved that your sweets were at least 80% organic. Mine were 100% non-healthy and didn’t look nearly as yummy as yours.
Love the 4th. We usually have what we call ‘Lawn of Fire’ celebrations ourselves.

Ah, America. Land of organic cupcakes and toxic smoke. Let freedom ring, I say.

    Let freedom ring.

    🙂

LOL, well I have to admit that my 4th of July treats were 0% organic, but I didn’t shoot off any fireworks, so maybe that evened things out a bit. 🙂

We sat at home and watched the neighbors’ illegal fireworks. I mean ALL the neighbors. There were things shooting into the air all around us. I asked my husband if the laws here are different than CA and he said, nope. But not one siren or fire truck or cop to be seen to stop this craziness. Soooo glad it rained a bit earlier that day.

I just took a cute picture of my little boy with his first sparkler. Aren’t holidays more fun with kids?

Organic cupcakes, in and of themselves, are quite a statement of our schizoid tendencies.

As for Mr. Big Boy Pants, let freedom ring, indeed!

Those are the most beautiful cupcakes I’ve ever seen! The only cupcakes in our house are made by the almighty “Hostess.” Those things ain’t organic!
