The Insanity

May 24, 2006 by Kathryn

Um… buying a house while selling a house is WAY more complicated than just buying a house.

That is all.

P.S. Thanks for all the great tips. If I live through this week, I may get the chance to use them.

You will live. Just remember my advice from Tuesday. “Keep Breathing.” It’s very important.

Hang on and keep taking it one step at a time. Just remember. Very soon all of the bad, busy, stressful parts will be over – but the living in your own house, with your own yard, with enough space, will go on

You are right, it is really like moving the heavens and earth–a very tricky dance to buy and sell. But, have faith that when you are following the path intended, everything works out just in time and just as it should. I agree with grammy. Forget all of those dots, labeling crap, etc. Just survive…get it in a box and you can figure the rest out when you get there. Besides, I don’t know about you, but I always put things away totally differnetly in my new house than I did in my old house. Just divide into upstairs or downstairs so the movers can get your boxes upstairs!

You’ll be on the other side of this soon–although from what I remember, you feel like you’re going to lose your mind in the process!
Seriously, though, btdt 5 years ago, with a 5 year-old and 9 month-old–no picnic, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Deep cleansing breaths. 🙂

Yes, it does sound complicated. We bought a house just before our baby was born, decided to gut the place and live with my in-laws for 6 months. That got “complicated”.

It’ll all be over soon, then you can sit back and relax in your new home!

    Keep your chin up! 🙂

Picture palm trees and sandy beaches. Wait. That doesn’t really help, does it?

Breathe – hee hee hee hooo – hee hee hee hoooooo. Lamaze breathing comes in handy in so many situations!

Seriously, I feel your pain having done this not long ago. You can do it, SuperWoman!

So far 4 people have come to look. Good luck to you– you can do it. I’m so proud that you are selling/buying at the same time– yikes!

We moved to a new state a few months ago. It was incredibly stressful (we had to move 2 months before the house actually sold). Unfortunately, there’s no way around the stress. Just make sure you’re getting sleep. And remind yourself that this is just temporary. Prayer is helpful, too!

I have been reading and giggling over the moving tips. Good luck, it’ll be fun for sure heading into a new home.
I’m giggling remembering when we were selling our appartment, to move into a house, and I was vacuuming the floor for the fourth time that day, before a visit from more potential buyers. I realized I hadn’t seen my 3 year old in awhile, went looking, and found her finishing cutting off all her hair on the freshly vacummed floor of her room, just as the doorbell rang with the real estate agent and buyers walking in on the scene of the crime.
