Harder to Transcribe

February 5, 2007 by Kathryn

Conversations with Magoo are a little harder to transcribe so I thought I’d just share some of his speech with you via video-blog. He’s learning to mimic well and even uses some words in context. At this point drinks are still “geeks” and he has erased the word “yes” from his little lexicon. In place of “yes” he says “please” or “fweeee”. EVERY. TIME.

Some things to notice – The giant curls sticking out of his head, the way he says “Whaaaaa?” like an annoyed teenager when he’s busy and I try to get him to face the camera, the look on his face when I take the phone away.

If you’re my mom, you may enjoy this video. If you’re someone else, I’ll get back to work and write something for you tomorrow.

I’m obviously not your Mom (see above messeage from Mom, plus I’d LIKE to think I’m way too young but then I’d be lying) and I loved it!

Tom was fascinated by Magoo’s video. He says “Hi.”

And about the look on Magoo’s face while he’s waiting for you to dial the phone? HILARIOUS. You’re going to have so much fun when he hits the teenage years.

So dad-gum cute! I LOVE the exasperated look he gave you. So cute. And cool to hear what your voice sounds like, too!

He is too cute. Makes me baby hungry. I’m sure my DH appreciates it. I should make him watch the video, too. Then, he’ll know where I’m coming from.

Oh, my eyes! I’m blinded by the cuteness!

Actually I was thinking about Magoo today when I read an article at the doctor’s office that said there is a correlation between the growth of the brain (literal size of the head) and how high the IQ is. But only in the first year. So basically it’s too late for my kids, but I’m thinking you’ve got a little genius on your hands there. Which was, of course, confirmed by the video.

Okay, to my daughter your son has just become the equivalent of a movie star. She woke up unreasonably early this morning, “Clifford” was not on TV yet…but there was Magoo on computer! Apparently he is just as fascinating as any of the shows on PBS. She requested that we “watch the baby” five times in a row before I said enough was enough.

I am coming out of lurkville to tell you that I love your site and your kids. Magoo? Precious! Keep on taking those videos and pictures! My son Peanut is 15 months old and I love to see other little guys around his age! BTW…how old is Magoo? I guess I just assumed he was somewhere around the 15-24 months range! (Can you tell I’m a first time mom with no other reference to baby ages beside my own baby!)

Dang cute. Cute enough to get met comment, and that doesn’t happen on many blogs…

That is the cutest video. I’m going to have to do that with my son tomorrow (he’s just over two). I loved those expressions. And my son says “gink” for “drink.”

The Biscuit seconds all the others (fourths? fifths?) and agrees that there should be more Magoo movies and less of his Mommy just sitting and reading. Although, he does point and get excited each time your floating head appears on the screen. Maybe he likes the whole Daring Family.

Great. I’ve made my son into a blog stalker.
