Sometimes Magoo talks with a not-splickable Southern accent.
Magoo loves hills.
The Seattle area is full of them.
When he sees one coming up in the distance, he points and strains hulk-like at his carseat straps, yelling, “MOMMY!!!! GO TO HAY-ULL!!! GO. TO. HAY-ULL!!!”
I don’t really want to go there.

I can’t wait to hear how he talks as a teenager!
Antique Mommy says
Any word is better with a few extra syllables thrown in. I loves me some Magoo. He probably understands that pants are pronounced “paints”

My kids don’t say their Rs. Our house has lots of boid nests around it.

Oh, sweet innocent peanut.
Some day when he’s a surly sulking teenager he’ll REALLY be shouting for you to go to “‘H’ ‘E’ DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS” and it won’t be so cute!
Rocks in my Dryer says
RFLOL–it does my heart good to hear that a baby with a Southern accent, though I’m sorry you’re being cursed in the process.
Signed, the momma of the girl who pronounces her favorite color “pank”

Farm Wife says
B.B. speaks southern as well. Although his grandparents live in the south, he’s not normally subjected to the accent. We drive a Vay-an, he plays with toy car-uhs, we have pet dawughs…I’m trying to teach him to say Ya’ll.

I admit, I was a little taken aback the first time I heard him shout that at you, but the facial expression made it pretty clear that he really did just mean to say hill. Even so, it was good for a laugh.
KYouell says
Not looking forward to today, thanks for the laugh. First smile of the day by way of you and Chilihead and Jenn.
Do you think the kids will notice if I read one more post?
Queen of Shake Shake says
Oh yeah, you hear those words a LOT down here in the bible belt. Southern language indeed. Hehe!
Heather says
My little angelic-golden-haired three year old was always getting her “What-how-who-why’s” confused. So, she would use a couple of them at once – just for good measure. She went through an entire six months of saying to just about anyone, “What the How are you doing?”, with a halo gleaming from her curls.
Being a conservative Christian family, my sister was aghast when babysitting one time. She confronted me. I nearly shot Sprite out my nose from laughing.
Eve says
Buster made up a word the other day which made Mr.Good and I look twice…masterated. Yes, he made it up. Masterated. Hmmmm….
Kimi says
I’m DYING! good lord that kid is HILARIOUS!
Ahna says
Too funny! My favorite learning-the-language-ever-so-slowly phrase from my DD is, said with a great deal of urgency, “Mom, I need more paper toilet please! More paper toilet. It’s all gone in here.”
sheena says
Yeah, makes me remember when my son spoke with every word starting with a D. People would die laughing when he said, “bye grandma” or , “it’s grandpa’s pickup” (you can replace all those words with a d at the beginning)…. Love it!
